The election of the 2RAR Association Management Committee at the AGM is an important opportunity for eligible members to have their say in the composition of the committee for 2020-2021.  It is the intention of the current management committee that they will nominate again for their current positions.  The main advantage of this is for continuity moving forward.

The AGM will be held at the Townsville RSL at 1100, please arrive by 1030 to check your eligibility.

Covid-19 restrictions have caused the committee to cancel the annual “reunion” at Coolangatta/Tweed Heads and move to Brisbane.  The reunion will begin at  the RAR Memorial in Fergusson Park (Cnr Samford Road and Imbros Street Enoggera), opposite the Samford Road entrance/exit to Gallipoli Barracks Enoggera. This will be followed by a live stream of the AGM at the Gaythorne RSL Club, (534 Samford Rd, Mitchelton QLD 4053 – about 1km from Fergusson Park), the function will be held in the function room on the first floor.

There is one Special Resolutions to be voted on.  This updates the Association’s Rules which govern the appointment of Life Members.

Only financial Ordinary members and Life members are eligible to vote at the AGM.  If you have any questions about your eligibility to vote, please contact David White on 0452 202 954 between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Because of the restrictions, if you are unable to attend, your proxy vote is very important.  Use the Proxy Form (attached) to decide your proxy and return it to the Secretary as soon as possible.  

The AGM will be available through Zoom, see below for details. It is the hope that as many people as possible will connect and take an active part in the process.

Voting at the meeting is by the show of hands.  The first past the post method of voting will be used. This means the nominee with the greatest number of votes for a position will win. In the case of equality of votes; the Chairman shall have a second or casting vote.
