18 Aug 12, Service commences at 1000 h and is anticipated to be completed NLT 1100 h
Location: St John’s Cathedral, Ann St Brisbane City
Dress: Serving members Dress Order 2C -Polyesters Ceremonial;
Civilian personnel: Coat and Tie with medal and decorations
Attendance: All 6 RAR personnel are to attend.
All association members, families and friends of the Bn are invited to attend.
Transport: Coaches will depart from the 6 RAR BnHQ area between 0915 h to 0930 h. Transport is available for any personnel wishing to attend the Church Service and will return all personnel to the Bn area at the completion of the service. In order to determine the number of coaches required a return of numbers wishing to utilise this transport is requested NLT 27 Jul 12.
Church Service Seating: A return of the number of the Battle of Long Tan veterans and / or their NOK by name is requested so that appropriate seating may be allocated. A return on numbers of any other personnel wishing to attend is requested so that sufficient seating for personnel may be allocated. These returns are requested to be in NLT 10 Aug 12.
After Service Function: At this point in time an after service function is planned to be conducted at the 6 RAR Sporties. It will commence on the Bn’s return from the city and will only run for a couple of hours. The intent at this stage is to have a lamb spit for lunch, but the details of this are yet to be confirmed. All personnel are invited to attend this function and further details will be released once confirmed.
