The DHAAT’s Terms of Reference directs the Tribunal inquire into issues pertaining to medalic recognition for service with Rifle Company Butterworth: specifically to consider whether service with Rifle Company Butterworth (RCB) between 1970-1989 should be recognised with an Australian Active Service Medal.

Congratulations to Ray, Graeme and supporters for clearly reporting the facts. Viewers can see the dedication of these men (part of the RCB Reference Group) who over so many years and through their persistence, patience and perseverance have discovered the truth.

And a big Thank You to Channel 9 A Current Affair producers and staff for opening the nation’s eyes and ears to the this subject. We look forward to their continuing interest and keeping the Australian people informed of progress.

Comment;

Seeing over many years the dedication of this group of warrior brother draws my attention to the words of the song Stout Hearted Men

You who have dreams, if you act they will come true
To turn your dreams to a fact, its up to you.
If you have the soul and the spirit,
Never fear it , you’ll see it through,
Hearts can inspire other hearts with their fire.

Give me some men who are stout-hearted men,
Who will fight, for the right they adore,
Start me with ten who are stout-hearted men
And I’ll still give you ten thousand more.
Shoulder to shoulder
And bolder and bolder,
The grow as they go to the fore.
Then there’s nothing in the world that can halt or mar a plan,
When stout-hearted men
Can stick together man to man.

Take a bow Ray, Graeme, Russell, Peter, Ken, Stan, Robert, Phill, Gary, Mike D, Mark and Mike v and the many contributors who kept the spirit alive.
