RARA Bibliography Database as at 31 March 2024

The RAR  bibliography records the known published and unpublished history of the Regiment since its formation in 1948. Here is the latest update from our RAR Registrar Russell Linwood.

The Bibliography records the spirit stated by Osmar White in his book Green Armour as that, “… which grows up in a Battalion (Regiment) when it has been welded together into a true fighting unit, is a comradeship almost spiritual in its strength and intensity. It springs from hardships shared equally, risks run by all in common and its power exceeds most of the emotions that an ordinary man will ever know. The care of soldiers for one another, their sure and calm dependence on each other are hard to understand by anyone who has not known it.”

It is a dynamic work that will forever be a work in progress as you help to identify material that we have not yet recorded: particularly, the many electronic recordings and productions on radio, TV, social media etc. And how about some cartoons often included in the Battalion newsletters?

We believe there is more to be found particularly in the electronic and video sources and especially from your own or your family’s memoirs.

To all who served in a Battalion of the Regiment we ask for you and your family’s help to identify any material relevant to your Battalion(s) and your service in them. Please email your response to Russell Linwood: we greatly appreciate your support.
